Whether we like them or not, airport scanners aren't going away anytime soon, at least not until we get rid of this pesky problem with terrorism and whatnot. Despite criticism that they are an invasion of privacy, body scanners for now are a necessary evil. But now you can protect yourself and your loved ones from the humiliation of having your bits and pieces exposed to the ogling eyes of airport security employees with a clever product called Flying Pasties.

Flying Pasties are basically stickers that you insert underneath your clothes to cover up your more private parts. According to their website:

Vacation Plans Ruined Again

That's right, chuckles. Soak it in.That's right, chuckles. Soak it in.I can't even begin to express how frustrating and disappointing it is to have to vacation on the Gulf coast. Again. It's at times like these that I think this whole "public servant" thing was a bad idea. To think, I could have been a top-tier lawyer or and fancy pants lecturer at Harvard or something. Instead I decided to become a community organizer and follow that candy trail all the way to the White House where I can't even travel where I want to on my time off. It is so not fair that I'm always on the clock. Even my private life, my leisure, has become one extended PR display.

Leo Gallagher is a Bigot (Among Other Things)

I never was a fan of the comedian Gallagher. Maybe it’s the complete waste of food; maybe it’s just that he really wasn’t that funny. I used to get highly offended when my father, who didn’t know one comedian from the next, inquired if this man was whom I was referring to when I spoke of George Carlin. “Um, no, Dad!” I would exclaim, exasperated. Carlin was my favorite comedic genius; Gallagher was more akin to Carrot Top and Paul Reuben—a novelty for some, a minor annoyance for others.

Has It Stopped At Last?

After 85 days, nearly three months, and up to 184 million gallons, has BP finally shut off the run-away gusher from its busted well, halting the flow of the gushing rude oil, that has been polluting the Gulf of Mexico, creating one of the biggest environmental disasters in the history of the U.S.? As of now the new 75-ton cap the company's robots fitted over BP's runaway oil geyser is holding. See the video.

Yesterday Thursday, Kent Wells, a BP PLC vice president, said at a news briefing that oil stopped flowing into the water at 2:25 p.m.

We are in the second day, and as of now, the well remains capped.

10 Cell Phone Courtesy Tips

Add Comment

July is Cell Phone Courtesy Month, although I wish it were every month. Unlike the seemingly 99% of the rest of the population, I’m not attached to my cell phone every day. I don’t text. In fact—get this—I don’t use one! We have one, but my husband keeps it on him since he works away from home. Since I’m pretty much either around here most of the time, or with him and our daughter, I don’t really need one, do I? That just boggles some people’s minds, but it’s true.

Will this fix hold?

The news this morning is that BP robots have finally attached a new, tighter-fitting cap on top of the BP busted oil well, and the hopes are that the problem with the oil gushing into Gulf of Mexico may be under control at last. After nearly three months of poisoning and polluting the environment of the Gulf and the coasts of several U.S. states. BP is not making too many claims that this fix is a fix, because of the failures of past fixes. Tests still have to be run. See the video
