The Lone Star State: home of Crawford, TX, the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders, illegal border crossings, and also to the Cheetah strip-club that is now suing a 14-year-old girl. for "swindling them into breaking state law". My only hope is that this is some kind of alternate universe and not a true news story from an actual state in the US because it is really horrifying.
The girl, who because of her age, is unidentified, apparently showed her breasts in the club while claiming to be 22 and (according to the club owner) she, "looked just like a model from a Miss America’s contest".
The girl's history is not nice. Police believe that the girl was earlier kidnapped by a 48-year-old year man, sexually assaulted and then "forced to strip at the club". The man has since been arrested and the girl is reportedly at home with her parents.
For some strange reason that is explained by nothing other than our own litigious culture, RJL Entertainment (whose particular brand of entertainment means operating the Cheetah Club) is now suing the alleged kidnapper, the girl, and her parents. WTF?
The club's attorney, presumably speaking with a straight face, said, "We're the victims here." Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. A girl is kidnapped and forced to strip at your club, albeit underage, and somehow the strip-club that hired the under-aged girl to begin with is the victim. Doesn't this lawyer ever watch Law & Order? Please, please do not tell me that our civil court system is so broken that this case will even get heard.
