   While I heartily agree with 9 of your 10 suggestions - not number 6.  Em-dashes and en-dashes, plus all the left and right single and double quotes, add little except complexity.  Sure they look nice in a brochure but for casual writing and reading on the web they add nothing except gilding.  

   And much as I like to use semicolons, most casual writing should avoid them as they challenge many readers because they are part of complex writing (where they belong) and not appropriate for a quick read.
