Obama Impeached for Swatting a Fly
Swat that fly!Are you kidding me PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals)? I totally agree with you that animals should be treated kindly, but a fly? Shouldn’t we draw a line somewhere? If I was on National television and a fly was swarming around me, I am pretty sure I would swat at it too, it is not like we are in the middle of Africa, we are in America. A representative from PETA was quoted saying, “We support compassion even for the most curious, smallest and least sympathetic animals." I do agree to an extent, but again I am not going to sit there and let a spider crawl up my arm in the middle of an interview, what else can you do, you cannot say, “excuse me, I must quickly go outside, there is a fly that I caught in my hand, or a spider that is crawling up my arm, and I must free it. I will be right back” while in the middle of a National televised interview… no, I am going to squash it.
PETA has offered to send the president a Katcha Bug Humane Bug Catcher, which is a device that allows users to trap a house fly and then release it outside, how thoughtful. The next time he is on National television (because this sort of thing happens all the time, with the bug squashing), he should pull out his “Katcha Bug Humane Bug Catcher” (because he will now carry it everywhere he goes), just to make PETA happy.
PETA had mentioned that they were happy that Obama’s voting record in the Senate was on behalf of all animal rights, but they were upset that he had swatted the fly, stating that he is not perfect “and we’re happy to say that we wish he hadn’t.” What next PETA? Are you going to try and impeach the president because he swatted a fly, although he is all for animal rights? Then what, are you going to swear in Sarah Palin after she admitted to hunting and killing animals for fun? You are right, nobody is perfect, and I bet if you asked Americans, I bet every 9 out of 10 would say they have killed a fly or insect that was in their way or bothering them. I bet another 4 out of 10 have killed an animal larger than an insect by accident or for fun throughout their lifetime. Are you going to get mad at the president if he were driving down a dark forest type road and hit a deer because the deer was in his way and he could not stop soon enough?
Give me a break… The average fly only lives for 25 days anyways (depending on temperature and environment), and what is their purpose? They fly, annoy humans and other animals, they eat, poop and reproduce – oh wait… spider food, yes.
