I Fricking Hate Florida

I am so glad I don't live in fricking Florida.

I have nothing against Disney World, tropical weather, or the Latino community, but I found this article about the NRA and Florida disgusting to say the least.

Loaded GunsLoaded Guns Apparently in Florida, gun owners in Florida were almost robbed of money earmarked in the state budget for a special fund designed to help process concealed weapons permits.....because, hey, of course everyone needs a concealed weapons permit.

$6 million dollars was to be taken from the fund and instead "Lawmakers chose to use the money instead to help pay operating expenses for schools, health care and other government programs."

Let's take a look at this closely. Wow- lawmakers are paying for schools, health care, and other government programs instead of weapons permits? What could possibly be going through their pretty little heads to think that something like education would be more important than guns? I just don't understand it. (Please note that the sarcasm here is deeply intentional)

WTF?

Gun Lobbyists have put an action campaign in to get the money back and the word out. Florida's governor has received no less than 25,000 phone calls, letters, and e-mails complaining about the action. The Governor of Florida, Charlie Crist considered vetoing the bill considering vetoing the bill, telling the Gun Lobbyist that he loved her and was a huge fan and supporter of the Second Amendment. He then went on the pass the larger budget bill and veto the part about taking money out of the said gun fund. Can you say pansy-ass? And, can we possibly give the NRA any more control in this country? I don't think their voices are quite being heard loudly enough.
